The State of Ohio has made revisions to its HCBS Transition Plan, which will be posted for public comment from December 12, 2016 to January 12, 2017. 


The HCBS Transition Plan, a requirement under the January 16, 2014 CMS Home and CommunityBased Services (HCBS) Settings Final Rule (CMS 2249-F/2296-F), sets forth the actions Ohio will take to operate all applicable HCBS programs in compliance with the final rule. On June 2, 2016, Ohio’s HCBS Transition Plan received initial approval from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). States are required to give public notice of amendments to the HCBS Transition Plan, and to provide a 30-day public comment period. Recent amendments to the State’s HCBS Transition Plan are posted at, as is a Summary describing the changes.
