Everyone has the right to receive the care they need in the settings they prefer. The Area Agency on Aging assists nine East Central Ohio counties understand their options for care and ensures your rights as a consumer are not infringed. Most older people remain independent their entire lives, but others find themselves needing some help with activities we once took for granted, such as fixing meals and traveling to appointments. There comes a time when we need a level of care that we just can't provide for ourselves. We offer many different options in a variety of settings, from linking you to care in your home to assisting you in nursing facility placement.
Public Notice and Request for Comment for January 2018
The purpose of this posting is to provide public notice and receive comments on three assisted living setting settings being submitted to CMS for heightened scrutiny review.The settings are new providers seeking ODA-certification to furnish the Medicaid assistedliving service. The state has determined there is sufficient evidence to demonstrate these settings possess the required home and community-based characteristics and do not have institutional qualities. The comment period is January 19, 2018 to February 19, 2018.
Public Notice and Request for Comment for February 2018
Ohio will post for public comment a renewal of the PASSPORT Medicaid waiver, which will be submitted to CMS for review. The public comment period is a requirement under the January 16, 2014, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Settings Final Rule (CMS 2249-F/2296-F), which sets forth the actions Ohio will take to operate all applicable HCBS programs in compliance with the final rule. States are required to give notice and provide a 30-day public comment period.
