Everyone has the right to receive the care they need in the settings they prefer. The Area Agency on Aging assists nine East Central Ohio counties understand their options for care and ensures your rights as a consumer are not infringed. Most older people remain independent their entire lives, but others find themselves needing some help with activities we once took for granted, such as fixing meals and traveling to appointments. There comes a time when we need a level of care that we just can't provide for ourselves. We offer many different options in a variety of settings, from linking you to care in your home to assisting you in nursing facility placement.
Ohio Department on Aging State Plan Annoucement 09-13-2017
The Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) develops a strategic framework, required by the federal Older Americans Act, to provide leadership that improves and promotes quality of life and personal choice for older Ohioans, adults with disabilities and their families and caregivers. The most recent framework, or state plan, covers state fiscal years 2015 through 2018.

In order to make the public aware, Regional Forums will be located in five locations across Ohio. The purpose of these forums is to encourage your regions’ older adults, caregivers, stakeholders and AAA staffs to share their perspectives about the current and emerging needs of Ohio’s older adult population. This collection of community-level perspectives, along with our Needs Assessment Survey, will directly inform our Statewide Needs Assessment and our 2019-2022 State Plan on Aging. For Area Agency on Aging Region 9, the forum will be located as follows:
