Who We Are - Board of Trustees
A Board of Trustees "owns" the AAA9, with all members being volunteers from local communities serving without financial compensation. The Board strives to be representative of the nine counties AAA9 serves and to maintain a balanced variety of professional backgrounds & life experiences, in order to best govern the AAA9. The Board typically has 10-15 members and operates under an internal Code of Regulations. The Board's primary focus is on general policy and overall direction, with a close eye on the fiscal accountability of the organization. The only employee selected by the Board is the Executive Director/CEO, who manages the day-to-day operations and is responsible for the other 69 or more employees.

Want to Make a Difference? Become a AAA9 Board Member.
AAA9 is seeking candidates to serve on its volunteer Board of Trustees.
“We are looking for strong candidates interested in serving the community and sharing their skills to benefit
current and future older adults. We are especially targeting individuals with expertise in law, finance, accounting,
housing management, or commercial real estate, but we encourage applications from individuals in all areas
of expertise,” explained AAA9 executive director Alan Burnett.

to request an information packet by mail.
Board of Trustees Meeting Dates
The meeting sites and dates of the monthly Board of Trustees meetings for the Area Agency on Aging Region 9, has been set for the remainder of 2009. Board meetings are normally held on the 4th Thursday of every month at 1:00 pm in the AAA9 Board Room, 60788 Southgate Road Byesville, OH and are open to the public. Visitors are urged to call ahead so that seating accommodations can be made.
Since AAA9 provides services to older adults in a 9 county area, the Board of Trustees will occasionally hold their meetings away from the AAA9 facility. This allows the Board Members to visit senior facilities in other counties and allows the general public greater access to meetings.
